In 2023, singer-songwriter Frederik Damhus closed two decades of musical collaborations. The song I Do marked the beginning of a new chapter when producer Alexander Grandjean immediately recognized its potential: “I know exactly how this should be produced.” The result was the birth of Torrent Sound – a sonic universe where hand-played, organic instruments merge with electronic details in a poetic expression.

Acoustic instruments and vocals carry the stories, while electronic and lo-fi elements provide a modern frame. Travels to Nashville and New York have left a clear imprint on the music, where American folk and contemporary pop meet in an honest, contemporary sound.

The project is created in collaboration with producer Alexander Grandjean and musician/producer Joachim Ersgaard, who, together with a range of contributing musicians, have shaped the universe that culminates in the debut album in January 2026.
